Yesterday had so many emotional ups and downs...
Painters showed up at 8:30. Plan was for them to paint the wall and they are taking away the couch to get it fixed.
We left soon after they arrived. Went downtown to the gaming convention to see Jeff. Just went to his hotel- which is where his dungeon thingee happens, too (in one of the ballrooms). Hung out with him for a bit, met the people he wanted us to meet (some of these folks have become good, important friends to him). Then the kids and I ate in the hotel restaurant. Had a fantastic breakfast buffet for lunch. We ended up staying downtown for a few hours.
Teagan was so sad when we left. She was eager to say bye to Daddy because we were heading to the Fair. But then she got a little sad on the walk to the car. And after a few minutes driving- it hit her. Crying, crying for Daddy. Very sad. Broke my heart. She called him on the phone and cried to him- which was very good, IMO, so he knows how she was feeling and what she was experiencing. She cried most of the way to the Fair- nothing obnoxious. Just very sad.
But once we got to the Fair!!! Woohoo!! Christy came with us and we had a blast. Did so much fun stuff. Ended up staying down there 6 hours. So it was 6:30 when we left. Aside from having napped in the car, Z never slept. T never napped the whole day. And the kids did awesome. No whining or complaining. They are well and played well and enjoyed all that the Fair had to offer.
Came home- my wall is perfect. Makes the room very homey. They took away the section of the couch so the room feels a little empty. Got a shower for me and Zach, a bubble bath for T. While Z and I showered (she didn't want to shower), she sat on the toilet and cried for Daddy some more. Less sad, more exhausted hysterical this time. I basically ignored her because nothing I said was effective so I just let her get it out.
Christy came over with some food and wine. Got the kids to bed and enjoyed some mini-quiches, some single origin dark chocolate ice cream, and merlot. It was a perfect ending to the day!!
