I don't have a weight loss goal- not keeping track of pounds or inches or clothing size. Christy and I joined a gym just to get stronger, healthier, more endurance, etc.
We've been doing basic cardio for 30-40 minutes, 3-4 times per week.
So we started our "boot camp" at the gym this week. Tues and Thurs for the next 7 weeks.
We had our class Tues- just 3 of us so it is really tuned in to our abilities. Sadly, I am the one in the best shape. I'm the fattest of the 3 of us but in the best shape. Go figure.
The soreness yesterday and today is brutal. I am dreading class today.
The really sad part is that we didn't do anything particularly trying.
We started outside with a series of squats, lunges while holding weights, jumping jacks, marching in place with free weights, and some arm work with the weights. Each exercise for 30 seconds and we did the "circuit" 3 times. I was the only one who made it all the way through. The other 2 got killed by the lunges. Came inside and did some upper body work with resistance bands. Then an ab routine- crunches.
My hope is that at the end of the 7 weeks, I can do that routine again with no issue. Because none of it was particularly killer but boy is it killin me now!

That's awesome Liz! Great that you've made that commitment to yourself but set no strict goals. I find it's much easier to accomplish something if you're not too strict on yourself but you have a desired outcome. Good health is a great one!
You are using muscles you haven't for a very long time. I love that pain - it's a good pain. Those exercises you are doing are very taxing - they're hardcore. Be proud that you made it through it and look forward to the day where you'll be able to do it with no pain. You'll get there - just keep up that dedication and hard work. Cuz there's no doubt it's hard work. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. I applaud you for doing this for yourself and your family!
