I wrote about joining a gym. And I think I mentioned that Christy and I are doing a 14 session Boot Camp.
Yesterday was the 4th of 14 sessions. We did a fitness test. Measure results for... how long to walk/jog a mile on the treadmill, how many push ups in 1 minutes, how many leg presses in 2 minutes, how many crunches in 1 min, how many stair steps in 2 mins.
What I LOVE (and you guys know this is my soapbox) is that we have never ONCE been asked to weigh in or get measured or check BMI. This fitness test is what will prove our results. At the end of the 14 weeks, we do the test over again and should be able to easily beat our numbers from yesterday.
Christy and I are doing this to get fit. No specific goals because we aren't focused on losing size/inches/pounds. I am really excited that the trainers have a method of testing us to show that there has been improvement!
Here's how UNFIT I am right now... My mile took 15 mins 43 seconds. I did 50 leg presses. I did 25 push ups. I did 65 stair steps. I did 45 crunches.
So hopefully I can come back in Oct and report much improved results!!
